Species Information
Description
A small species of frog reaching up to 2 cm in body length. It has a brown back, with darker brown spots. The lower half of the sides of the body and head are bluish-grey. There are white spots along the upper lip. The belly is white, with grey specks. The pupil is horizontal, and the iris is gold. The groin and the backs of the thighs are orange-red. Fingers are unwebbed and toes are slightly webbed, both without discs.
Habitats
Occurs in sandstone crevices.
Breeding Biology
Eggs, tadpoles, and development time are unknown, but are likely to be similar to those of other Uperoleia species. Breeds during summer to autumn in the wet season.
Similar Species
Looks very similar to Uperoleia crassa, Uperoleia borealis, and Uperoleia minima in its distribution, but is smaller than all these species except Uperoleia minima, which has a different call.
