FrogID Phishing Email Alert

In April 2021, we were informed that a number of people not associated with the Australian Museum FrogID™ project received phishing emails from scammers pretending to be from the Australian Museum FrogID™ project. If you received an email that appeared to be from FrogID™, but included a URL in the name section of the email, do not engage with the message. Please contact us at if you have any questions or concerns about this. We also encourage you to review the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission’s helpful tips for avoiding phishing scams, available here.

We are excited to hear you’re interested in contributing to FrogID.
There might be a few questions you have around the project. Review the list below to see if you can find an answer quickly so you can get started with FrogID.

FrogID is Australia’s first national frog identification project, created by the Australian Museum. It is a citizen science project that enables registered users to submit audio recordings, these are then identified, and the user is notified of what species of frog they recorded. The FrogID app also captures date, time and location data that informs Australian Museum research on frog distribution and breeding behaviour.
